Division of Emergency Medicine

The Division of Emergency Medicine is dedicated to improving outcomes of acutely ill and injured patients through high quality, cost efficient care, education, and research. All full-time SLUCare Physicians in the department are board certified/eligible in Emergency Medicine. All our nurses are TNCC trained and together we use a team approach to provide our patients with the best care available.

Saint Louis University Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center providing comprehensive emergency care. We are the only Level 1 Trauma Center in St. Louis with state certifications in both Missouri and Illinois. The hospital treats more than 37,000 emergency medicine patients per year, including over 2,200 trauma cases, and has an acuity level higher than the national average.
