Research

The Division of Plastic Surgery fosters a culture of innovation and academic progress by providing residents with a wide variety of research opportunities. Residents are required to work on clinical research on an annual basis, and encouraged to submit projects for publication. Resident presentations at regional and national conferences are sponsored by the department. Fresh cadaver and basic science labs are available through the SLU School of Medicine and a fully equipped microsurgery lab is available for resident use.

Abstracts are regularly presented at:

The American Association of Plastic Surgeons (AAPS) Annual Meeting
The Plastic Surgery Research Council (PSRC) Annual Meeting
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) Annual Meeting
The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS) Annual Aesthetic Meeting
The Missouri Chapter of the American College of Surgeons (MO-ACS) Annual Chapter Meeting
The Saint Louis University Graduate Medical Education (SLU-GME) Resident Research Forum
