Residency Program

The Urology residency program offers our urology residents a unique opportunity to employ the latest urologic surgical and diagnostic techniques and modalities. The main teaching hospital is Saint Louis University Hospital, a 356-bed hospital and is a regional leader in providing quaternary level care to patients with severe illness and injury throughout eastern Missouri and southern Illinois. Caring for its diverse community, urology residents and faculty work to maintain an environment where healing, knowledge, compassion and excellence come together.

The Urology residency program is a graduated, four year program in clinical urology with a two year prerequisite in general surgery. The Division of Urologic Surgery is distinguished for their clinical excellence in the full spectrum of genitourinary disorders. The faculty have established a respective reputation in the areas of genitourinary oncology, pediatric urology, and reconstructive urology, as well as a wide range of adult and pediatric urologic anomalies; SLU urology faculty have a strong interest in developing well rounded clinical urologists, while at the same time preparing the trainee for a career in academic medicine.
