Stacey Harris, Ph.D.
Professor
Education
- PhD in Mathematics, 1979, University of Chicago
- MS in Mathematics, 1974, University of Chicago
- BS in Pure Mathematics, 1973, Case Western Reserve University
Practice Areas
Professor Harris's field is differential geometry, mostly as relating to general relativity. Harris studies global structures of spacetimes, particularly the construction known as the Causal Boundary (which creates, in a universal manner, a structure that allows for understanding the causality behavior of a spacetime model in the large).
Harris also spent some time contributing to a study of how differential geometry can be used to compare 2- and 3-dimensional physical models (such as medical images of a human body at two different times).
