Office of Public School Partnerships

Saint Louis University’s School of Education is committed to serving the community through innovative teaching and interdisciplinary research. We foster meaningful partnerships with Missouri public schools to create collaborative learning environments that benefit students, educators and the broader community.

Our Commitment

In working to fulfill our commitment to serve the community, the SLU Office of School and Community Partnerships seeks:

  • To provide access to high-quality education for all students, regardless of their background or circumstances.
  • To promote innovation and excellence in teaching and learning.
  • To serve as a resource for public schools and their communities.

Community Impact

The Office of School and Community Partnerships is dedicated to making a positive impact on the local education landscape. We collaborate with public schools to support their goals and enhance the educational experience for students. Our commitment includes:

  • Public Charter School Sponsorship: As a research institution, Saint Louis University is committed to the concept of public charter schools as laboratories of innovation to discern what can work best in public education, and how all educational sectors can benefit from such innovation.
  • Teacher Preparation: We provide training and support for future educators to excel in their classrooms by getting student teachers into classrooms early and often. Our teacher preparation programs are designed to equip teachers with the skills and knowledge they need to make a difference in the lives of their students.
  • Professional Development: We partner with public school educators to provide ongoing professional development opportunities to help teachers stay current with best practices in education.
  • Research and Innovation: We collaborate with our school partners and the PRiME Center to conduct research that informs educational practice and policy. Through our research initiatives, we seek to address pressing educational challenges and find innovative solutions.
  • Community Engagement: We actively engage with the communities surrounding our campuses. By collaborating with community organizations and schools, we aim to create a supportive network for families and students.
  • Scholarships and Financial Aid: We work to make higher education more accessible through scholarships and financial aid programs. We believe that a college education should be within reach for all students.
