  • 04/25/25- Saint Louis University has been recognized for its voter engagement efforts. The Fair Elections Center's Campus Vote Project and NASPA - Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education announced that 272 campuses in 39 states and the District of Columbia were designated as "Voter Friendly Campuses." The initiative recognizes institutions that have planned and implemented nonpartisan practices that encourage their students to register and vote.

    04/25/25- Saint Louis University celebrated scholars on Thursday, April 24, at the annual Scholarly Works and Grant Winners reception. The annual ceremony celebrates research excellence and recognizes success in publications and other scholarly outputs, as well as grants and service from SLU faculty and staff. Winners were recognized for their accomplishments from 2024.

    04/24/25- The Saint Louis University Women's Commission added five new members to the long list of Mary A. Bruemmer Award winners and, for the first time, recognized the inaugural Mary A. Bruemmer Legacy Award. The annual recognition luncheon took place on Tuesday, April 22, in the Busch Student Center's Wool Ballrooms. A packed crowd gathered to honor the legacy of Bruemmer, SLU's first dean of women and the founder of the Women's Commission, and the latest group of honorees.

  • 04/24/25- Free tickets are available for SLU students beginning one hour before each performance of "Ride the Cyclone," presented by SLU Theatre and Dance at The Grandel. Performances are April 24-26 with showtimes on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7 p.m. with matinees on Friday and Saturday at 1 p.m.

  • 04/24/25- In 2022, Saint Louis University, Seattle University, and Gonzaga University were awarded a National Science Foundation ADVANCE Partnership Grant for a 3-year program to re-imagine the professoriate and the associated implications for faculty evaluation and advancement. In a message to the SLU community, the Provost's Office provided a final update about the project.

  • 04/23/25- The 2025-26 Chaifetz Fellowship application is now open. The Chaifetz Fellowships support entrepreneurship education at Saint Louis University, in classes, programs and co-curricular activities. 

  • 04/23/25- The second conference on AI for Medicine at SLU will be held on Friday, May 2, in the Busch Student Center. The event is open to SLU faculty, staff and students.

  • 04/23/25- The campus community is encouraged to attend to celebrate the achievements of SLU's graduating students at the Senior Legacy Symposium on Tuesday, April 29. The 18th annual Senior Legacy Symposium will take place in the Busch Student Center from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. This event regularly features the work of more than 200 students and over 50 academic departments and programs.

  • 04/22/25- SLU will remember Pope Francis with a Mass for the Holy Father, Pope Francis, at noon on Wednesday, April 23, at St. Francis Xavier College Church. 

  • 04/22/25- The Edward Jones Dean's Speaker Series' next event will feature St. Louis City SC President and General Manager Diego Gigliani. The event will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29.

  • 04/22/25- The SLU Interprofessional Education Program and the Doisy College of Health Sciences are co-hosting an opportunity sponsored by the Association of Schools Advancing Health Professions (ASAHP). This initiative aims to foster dialogue between academic institutions and their healthcare industry partners to enhance collaboration and improve health outcomes.

  • 04/22/25- Applications for the Spirit of the Billiken award are now open to the Class of 2026. Given by the Saint Louis University Office of Alumni Engagement, the Spirit of the Billiken Award honors 18 outstanding seniors who embody SLU's values. Honorees represent what it means to be a Billiken by excelling in academics, leadership, community service, commitment to Saint Louis University and dedication to living SLU's mission after graduation.

  • 04/17/25- The Department of Psychology will be hosting the 22nd annual Undergraduate Capstone Symposium on Wednesday, April 23, in the St. Louis Room on the third floor of the Busch Student Center.

  • 04/17/25- The Department of Pediatrics has announced the winners of the 18th Annual Pediatric Science Day. Awards were given out for the best morning and afternoon platform presentation and the best poster.

  • 04/15/25- The Mission and Identity Friday Mass and Speaker Series will continue on April 25. Br. Ken Homan, S.J., author, spiritual director, and doctoral candidate in U.S. history at Georgetown University, will speak with us about Ignatian Spirituality, Spiritual Exercises, and discernment.

  • 04/15/25- The University community has the opportunity to provide feedback during a 30-day comment period on a policy. Feedback on the Bias-Related Incident Policy will be accepted until Friday, May 16.

    04/15/25- The 25th Annual Sam and Marilyn Fox Atlas Week took place from April 6 to April 12. This year’s theme, "From Inequality to Justice: Transforming Global Health through Social Change," was designed to highlight the critical intersection of global health and social justice, inspiring deeper discussions and actionable solutions to today’s challenges. 

  • 04/14/25- SLU’s “Banner Self-Service” and “Internet Native Banner” (INB) systems will both be unavailable for everyone from Sunday, April 20, at 12:01 a.m. CDT until 6 a.m. ITS will be performing maintenance on these systems during this time.

  • 04/14/25- SLU Chapter Sigma Xi Scientific Research Honor Society held its annual research symposium on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. This year, more than 90 abstracts from various disciplines were presented. The top award winners for each division will receive a cash prize.

  • 04/14/25- The Emerson Leadership Institute's Dignity-Based Leadership Development series for 2024-2025 concludes with an event titled "Negotiating through Dignity and Belonging." The event will be from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, in L30 in the Chaifetz School of Business.

  • 04/11/25- In an effort to streamline services, custodial services for private offices will transition from a weekly cleaning schedule to a monthly cleaning schedule. This adjustment will help optimize resource allocation while maintaining essential cleaning standards in common areas, high-traffic zones, and residence halls.

  • 1818 students study together on April 18, 2024.

    04/11/25- The 1818 Advanced College Credit Program is celebrating another year of growth, with 6,523 students enrolled for the 2024-2025 academic year--an 11% increase from the previous year.

  • 04/11/25- Earlier this month, SLU's Fraternity and Sorority Life celebrated Unity Week, a program to promote connection through volunteerism, philanthropy, and good-spirited competition. Notable events included a trivia night, dodgeball tournament, and blood drive.

  • 04/10/25- Saint Louis University students are invited to participate in a research study. The study relates to gun access.

  • 04/10/25- Saint Louis University will undergo a reaffirmation of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accreditation review in the fall of 2025. Three open forums are scheduled to inform the SLU community about the process.

  • 04/04/25- Saint Louis University hosted a Celebration of Teaching on Wednesday, April 2. For the second straight year, the Office of the Provost organized the event to honor members of SLU who have won institution-level awards in the past year.  At the event, five SLU faculty members shared their insights about teaching. 

  • 04/04/25- Voters who are registered in the State of Missouri can vote in the General Municipal Elections on Tuesday, April 8. Polling places are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. There are 53 city-wide polling places on Election Day, including on SLU's campus at Il Monastero, 3050 Olive Street.  

  • 04/04/25- The objective of the Scientific Innovations Award is to support projects that may be too innovative and speculative for traditional funding sources but still have a high likelihood of producing important findings. It is expected that investigations supported by these grants will yield high-impact findings and result in major grant applications and funding as well as significant publications in high-impact journals.

  • 04/03/25- Health Equity and Policy expert, Daniel Dawes, J.D., will be the 2025 Atlas Week Signature Symposium Speaker. The 25th Annual Atlas Week Signature Symposium will be held on Thursday, April 10 at 5:30 p.m. in the Busch Student Center Wool Ballrooms.

  • 04/03/25- Currently enrolled undergraduate SLU students can now apply for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship. The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship is a competitive award granted to undergraduate students committed to social justice, service, and leadership.

  • 04/01/25- The SLU American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) Chapter organized its third High School Research Symposium Outreach Event on Saturday, March 29, 2025. This event aims to merge research and presentation experience for high schoolers in the Saint Louis area so that they are exposed to scientific research.

  • 04/01/25- Applicants are invited to apply for an institutional nomination to the 2026 Pew Scholars Program in the Biomedical Sciences. An award of $75,000 per year for four years will be provided to the sponsoring institution for use by the scholar.

  • 04/01/25- SLU's Division for Mission and Identity invites all Faculty and Staff to participate in the Shared Mission program on Wednesday, April 9, at 11:30 a.m. in the Pere Marquette Gallery. The Shared Mission program offers an in-depth, community-based opportunity for faculty, staff, administrators and trustees of Saint Louis University.

  • 04/01/25- The Twenty-Fifth Annual Sam and Marilyn Fox Atlas Week will be held April 6-12, 2025. A long-standing SLU tradition, Atlas Week aims to engage the SLU community through a diverse range of events and programs designed to raise awareness and foster dialogue on both historical and contemporary global issues.

  • 04/01/25- SLU Giving Day is Saint Louis University's annual 24-hour philanthropic campaign. It has raised more than $2.3 million for SLU since launching in 2017 in the form of more than 5,884 gifts. More than $619,000 was raised in 2024, making it among the most successful Giving Days to date.

  • 04/01/25- A delegation of 17 individuals from SLU attended Hispanic Capitol Day in Jefferson City on Tuesday, March 25, through the Center for Social Action. Students came from various undergraduate schools, the School of Law and the School of Medicine.

  • 04/01/25- Play a round at Topgolf with co-workers, family, and friends. For a limited time only, the SLU community can receive $15 off gameplay on their next visit to Topgolf.

  • 04/01/25- Saint Louis University's Mamoun Benmamoun, Ph.D., and two students recently hosted the university's second Coding & AI Workshop at St. Louis Catholic Academy, building on the success of the first session at Al-Manara Academy. This initiative, supported by the SLU 1818 Community Engagement Grant, provides young learners with hands-on exposure to artificial intelligence and coding, fostering an early interest in STEM fields.

  • 04/01/25- The Atlas Program is seeking flag bearers for its annual Parade of Nations. The Parade will be on Friday, April 11, between 11:45 am and 12:30 p.m.

  • SLU hosted the 2025 St. Louis Regional Spelling Bee.

    04/01/25- The School of Education at Saint Louis University recently hosted the 2025 St. Louis Regional Spelling Bee, marking the third consecutive year the University has welcomed talented young spellers from across the region to compete for a chance to advance to the national stage. Khushbu Dahal, a student from the Academy of the Sacred Heart, emerged as the champion by successfully spelling the word "jongleur."

  • 03/28/25- In a message to the University community, the Provost's Office provided notice of upcoming changes to Panopto. Panopto has been SLU's "lecture capture" tool since 2019.

  • 03/28/25- Baseball season is back. Plan now to cheer the St. Louis Cardinals as they take on the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday, Aug. 27, during Billiken Night at the Ballpark. This event is open to students, faculty, staff, alumni and other members of the SLU community.

  • 03/28/25- Professional Notes is a round-up of awards, presentations, papers, and other professional achievements of SLU faculty, staff members, and students.

  • 03/27/25- Copies of the annual Saint Louis University fact book can be ordered online. SLU's 2025 Profile includes updated enrollment figures, the latest SLU rankings and honors, and useful information about academics, campus life and student financial support.

  • 03/27/25- The 18th annual Senior Legacy Symposium will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, in the Busch Student Center. The Division of Academic Affairs needs volunteers for various tasks throughout the day to help the event run smoothly.

  • 03/26/25- SLU will hold its second Celebration of Teaching from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, in the Sinquefield Stateroom (DuBourg Hall 409). The event features short, TED-style talks from SLU faculty who have won institution-level awards this year.

  • 03/25/25- Facilities Services is hosting an E-Waste and Shred It Drive from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, at the Il Monastero Parking Lot. This drive is part of the collegiate sustainability competition, Campus Race to Zero Waste (formerly Recyclemania).

    03/25/25- The Office of International Services hosted a campus-wide Holi celebration on Saturday, March 22. The celebration of Holi, a Hindu festival of colors, featured colors, music, food, and dancing. Check out some photos of the event.

  • 03/24/25- The Saint Louis University Chapter of Sigma Xi invites the SLU community to its annual research symposium, featuring more than 90 posters from undergraduate students, graduate students, postdocs, and research scientists in a broad range of disciplines covering biological/life sciences, physical/engineering sciences, and social/behavioral sciences. The annual event will be Wednesday, April 2.

  • 03/24/25- The Saint Louis University Women's Commission will honor six women at the annual Mary A. Bruemmer luncheon. The ceremony will be at 11:30 on Tuesday, April 22, in the Wool Ballroom of the Busch Student Center.

  • 03/21/25- Career Services and 14 students traveled to Houston, TX, for the Spring 2025 Houston Career Trek. This opportunity allowed students to expand their network, explore the city, and learn about job and internship opportunities. Students visited with professionals from NASA's Johnson Space Center, KBR, ENGIE, and BP.

  • 03/21/25- As part of the joint Provost/Faculty Senate Teaching Effectiveness Project, the Phase 1 Project Team is inviting the SLU community to provide feedback on a draft teaching effectiveness framework.

  • 03/21/25- As part of ongoing efforts to align resources with strategic priorities and ensure Saint Louis University’s long-term financial sustainability, MOCRA will close in May 2026, at the end of the 2025-2026 academic year. SLU will take several steps to further MOCRA's mission, including carefully preserving its permanent collection and incorporating selected works into exhibitions at the SLU Museum of Art (SLUMA).

  • 03/20/25- International students at Saint Louis University are invited to participate in a research study. The purpose of this study is to understand and explore the lived experiences of international students at SLU.

  • 03/20/25- The Interprofessional Education Program at Saint Louis University is hosting its biannual poster symposium from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, in the foyer of the Education Union.

  • 03/20/25- The International Faculty and Staff Association (IFSA) Atlas Week Panel: Together for Change: Bridging Cultures for Health, Justice, and Inclusion will be from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9.

  • 03/20/25- SLU's Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa (PBK) is seeking volunteers to assist with its induction ceremony, which will be held at 5 p.m. on April 24, at Queens Daughter Hall. Any SLU faculty, staff, or students who themselves are members of PBK are invited to participate.

  • 03/18/25- The Mission and Identity Friday Mass and Speaker Series will continue on April 4. Patrick Cousins, director of Pastoral Formation at Saint Louis University, will lead a panel discussion on SLU's response to Laudato si'. Laudato si' is an encyclical of Pope Francis published in May 2015.

  • 03/18/25- The University community has the opportunity to provide feedback during a 30-day comment period on a proposed new policy. The proposed policy deals with gift cards.

  • 03/18/25- Alpha Sigma Nu, the honor society of Jesuit institutions of higher education, recently inducted 159 new members. Their members are both graduate and undergraduate students who uphold and live out their tenets of scholarship, service, and loyalty. In addition to this, Alpha Sigma Nu inducted five honorary members.

  • 03/14/25- Volunteers are needed for clinical psychology doctoral students to practice an intervention called motivational interviewing.

  • 03/13/25- MacOS and security updates will be available to all SLU-managed Mac workstations on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

  • 03/13/25- Windows and application updates will be available to all SLU-managed workstations on Tuesday, March 25, starting at 11 a.m. CDT.

  • 03/12/25- The Center for Research on Global Catholicism (CRGC) at Saint Louis University is seeking applicants for the 2025 St. Louis Catholic Archives Visiting Research Grant. The deadline to apply is Thursday, May 1.

  • 03/12/25- The Division of Mission and Identity will host its next Magis Brown Bag event on Wednesday, March 26. SLU students will share their experience of the University's Catholic Jesuit Mission. 

  • 03/11/25- SLU's "Banner Self-Service" and "Internet Native Banner" (INB) systems will both be unavailable for everyone from 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, until 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 16. ITS will be performing maintenance on these systems during this time.

  • 03/10/25- Twice a year, in March and September, Workday - SLU's integrated, cloud-based administrative and finance system - releases feature upgrades designed to increase functionality and enhance the user experience. The March update will begin at 1 a.m. on Saturday, March 15.

  • 03/07/25- OASIS, Saint Louis University's Caribbean and Latin America representing student group, will host the inaugural Si Se Pudo pre-commencement ceremony on Wednesday, May 14, at 7:30 p.m. The pre-registration deadline is Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

  • 03/07/25- SLU's Division for Mission and Identity invites all faculty and staff to participate in the Shared Mission program on Wednesday, March 19, at 11:30 a.m. in the Pere Marquette Gallery.   • 03/06/25- Saint Louis University's WATER Institute and National Great Rivers are hosting the 2025 SLU Summit for Water focused on Nature-Based Solutions: Science to Policy to Practice. The conference will take place in person on Wednesday, March 19, and virtually on Thursday, March 20.

  • 03/06/25- The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of the HydroVax-001B WNV vaccine in healthy adult participants. This study addresses the urgent need for a vaccine to prevent WNV disease.

  • 03/06/25- The 2025 Spring Lawful Permanent Residency Workshop, which will provide valuable information and resources to support a journey toward lawful permanent residency, will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

  • 03/06/25- Saint Louis University will be hosting the Regional Neighborhoods Conference on Saturday, March 8. The conference, held in the Busch Student Center Wool Ballrooms from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., includes breakfast and lunch, three panel presentations, a performance by the Story Stitchers, and an opportunity to network with a variety of nonprofit organizations, vendors, and community initiatives.

    03/06/25- Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent in the Roman Catholic Church, a season of renewal and a time when the SLU community is invited to deepen and strengthen its relationship with God in an intentional way. SLU observed Ash Wednesday with a series of Masses throughout the day.

  • 03/05/25- Due to increasing security threats and concerns, Okta is in the process of removing support for voice and SMS text verification for multi-factor authentication (MFA). As a result, SLU must transition its MFA process to use the Okta Verify application.

  • 03/04/25- In February 2025, Career Services released an interactive, public-facing, Experiential Learning Dashboard to increase data accessibility for the Saint Louis University community. This dashboard provides information about applied learning opportunities students have taken advantage of while pursuing their degrees.

  • 03/04/25- The Center for Social Action and the School of Social Work together brought more than 40 students to the Missouri State Capitol on Wednesday, Feb. 26. The students met with State Representative LaKeySha Bosley and attended a rally in the rotunda to hear from bill sponsors and impacted individuals.

  • 03/04/25- The Morgan Book Fund Award provides a book scholarship to graduate students at SLU for one academic year. Applications are open now and will close on Monday, March 31, 2025.

  • 02/28/25- March is National Nutrition Month, and the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics has planned a series of events throughout the month to celebrate.

  • 02/28/25- The Office of the University Registrar is launching a new time-ticketing registration process designed to enhance the course enrollment experience for students at the St. Louis and Madrid campuses. The time-ticketing registration schedule will be implemented starting with the fall 2025 registration cycle.

    02/27/25- Lent is a season of renewal and a time when Christians are invited to deepen and strengthen their relationship with God in an intentional way. Ash Wednesday takes place on Wednesday, March 5. Masses will take place at the Law School, South Campus, and North Campus.

  • 02/27/25- The Saint Louis University (SLU) Family Center on Healthy Aging Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP) is offering an Age-Friendly Clinical Externship in the Summer of 2025.

  • 02/27/25- The third annual Black History Month Celebration and Awards Ceremony, hosted by SLU's Cross Cultural Center for Global Citizenship, took place on Saturday, Feb. 22. Eight awards were given out during the event to students, staff, and faculty from across the University.

  • 02/25/25- Undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs, and research scientists are invited to submit abstracts for poster presentations. The abstract submission deadline is 5 p.m. on Friday, March 7.

  • 02/25/25- Get involved in planning for Saint Louis University's biggest annual event: 2025 Homecoming and Family Weekend, scheduled to be held from Sept. 26 to Sept. 28. SLU's Homecoming and Family Weekend Planning Committee is accepting interest forms now through Thursday, March 27, from faculty and staff hoping to host individual events for alumni, parents, families and students on that Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

  • 02/21/25- The Open Source with SLU team aims to promote and sustain open-source practices across our campus. The group identifies software projects that could benefit from open-source development and help project teams enhance their work. Open Source is encouraging the SLU community to share their project details so it can help make the project better and more sustainable.

  • 02/21/25- Leslie McClure, Ph.D., Dean of the College for Public Health and Social Justice, will be the guest speaker at the next Mission and Identity Friday Mass and Speaker Series.

  • 02/18/25- The Boeing Institute of International Business hosted its annual Boeing Distinguished Guest Lecture Series, featuring Emmanuel Koubarakis, Consul General of Greece in Chicago, on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025. The event, titled "Unlocking Investment Opportunities in Greece," attracted a diverse audience of students, faculty, and business professionals eager to gain insights into Greece's evolving economic landscape.

  • 02/18/25- Nominations are open for the College of Arts and Sciences Graduate Student DEI Champion Award and the College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate DEI Champion Award.

  • 02/11/25- The Music Program of the Visual and Performing Arts Department at Saint Louis University will present pianist Kariné Poghosyan in concert. The concert takes place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, in the Xavier Hall Main Stage Theatre.

  • 02/11/25- At the Spring 2025 Career Expo, Drive Social Media will be providing free, professional headshots to students. Business professional attire is encouraged for those wanting headshot photos.

  • 02/10/25- The University Core will host Paul Hanstedt, Ph.D., Vice Chancellor of the University of Minnesota-Rochester and a national expert in undergraduate teaching and learning, for two events related to the Core's Collaborative Inquiry requirement. A lecture is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 20, and a workshop will take place Friday, Feb. 21.

  • 02/07/25- The SLU Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) has officially announced the implementation and projected timeline of the new electronic IRB submission system. The new system will go live Monday, March 3, 2025.

  • 02/07/25- The National Science Foundation (NSF) in Innovations in Graduate Education Program (IGE) Program is designed to encourage the development and implementation of bold, new, and potentially transformative approaches to STEM graduate education training. There are two slots open, and the internal deadline for applications is Thursday, Feb. 20.

    02/06/25- There were no undergraduate or graduate classes for most programs on Wednesday, Feb. 5, for the Spring 2025 Wellness Day. A number of events were planned on campus for members of the University community.

  • 02/06/25- The FASPE Symposium on Business and Medical Ethics will be Saturday, March 8, at the University of Chicago's Gleacher Center. The symposium is co-sponsored by the Bander Center for Medical Business Ethics.

  • 02/06/25- Researchers are seeking international graduate students to participate in an important research study titled "SHIFT (student health, inclusion, and food transition)."
