Sabbaticals and Developmental Leaves
The purpose of sabbaticals (for tenured faculty) and developmental leaves (for non-tenure-track faculty) is to provide faculty members with professional development and renewal time. Full-time tenured faculty members may apply for sabbatical leaves of one semester at full salary or one academic year at half salary. To be eligible, faculty must have completed six years of full-time service since hiring or since the end of the academic year of the previous sabbatical leave. Full-time non-tenure-track faculty members may apply for developmental leaves of one semester at full salary. To be eligible, non-tenure-track faculty must have completed six years of full-time, continuous service since hiring. Applications for sabbaticals and developmental leaves must be submitted by Sept. 15 for requests for the next academic year.
